Got Goals?

Do you have goals?  I think deep down inside everyone has goals.  How do you reach them is the difference?  There are those that commit everyday of their life to move forward and obtaining them. Do you sit around wishing, dreaming, and hoping your goals (dreams) come true. Or do you set those goals and step one foot forward to making those goals (dreams) reality?

Sometimes we give up because we try once and have the door close. But everything worth reaching has a price. Who said life would be easy? It sure isn’t. Therefore walking in faith isn’t going to be easy. Having faith that you will reach your goals. Affirming success in your life daily.

In order to reach those goals there are two major key points I think one must you follow. This points have help me reach my goals. And they may be able to help you but only if you….

The first is COMMIT!

Commit in those goals. Be serious. Be dedciated.  If you are not committed to YOUR goals, you will never reach them.

The second is PLAN!

Develop a plan to reach your goals. You should have short-term goals and long-term goals. Your goals should be specific (clear), measurable, achievable, and realistic.  Organize your time to reach these goals.

Believe in your goals (dreams) but the most important thing is to commit and plan that way you can achieve it!!

An Act of Kindness

What is Kindness? Do you practice Kindness in your everyday life?  In the dictionary the meaning of Kindness is is the act or the state of being kind – —i.e. marked by goodness and charitable behaviour.

The best portion of a good man’s life – his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love. ~William Wordsworth

Something happen this week “an act of kindness” that brings me to share with you the importance for us to have kindness in our daily life.

A few days ago, there was a knock at my door. My dogs started barking. My kids questioned who was at the door. Like normal, I looked out the crack of the window to see who it was…I saw a small blue car at the entrance of my driveway and saw a man at the door. With my kids behind me and my dogs still barking, I opened the door and say “Yes, can I help you?”. The gentlemen handed me a small bag, as it was placed in my hands it felt soft ( I couldn’t imagine what was inside of it ) the gentlemen (which I don’t know his name but had seen the car past by my home many times) said this is for the boy (my 13 yr old son) that is always shooting the hoops. I was surprised and as a surprised person wondering what is this man giving me for my son? As a mother a red light goes off. I said “My son, Jr”? I said “Thank You” (not knowing what was inside) and closed the door in front of me. I turned and handed the bag to my son. When he opened it the bag there was a new basketball net inside. My son’s basketball hoop had been missing the net. And we hadn’t gotten around to get a new one. If you have a family and your life is sometimes alittle busy, little things like that don’t take priority.  My husband soon came into the kitchen asking what had happened? I told him the story and everyone in our home was amazed at the fact that his man whom we still don’t know his name was KIND enough to buy my son this net for NO REASON at all.

An act of KINDNESS is the title of this post and the reason I share this story is because an act so small and simple goes to show that there are still people out there that have KINDNESS in their hearts.

I come from the Chicago, a big city. The homes are close to one another, you know who lives next to you most of the time by name. I miss that. As a child growing up on Barry St, I still remember my neighbors. I remain friends with some of them too. So if it would have happen up north “a neighbor giving my son a net” well you’d be surprised and say how kind but you’d be that is my neighbor – I know them – they know us.

Well in the south, in Florida. Homes are not close to each other. Your lucky if you have a neighbor. You see cars go up and down the street. There may be some that wave “HI” and that is as “friendly” as you get here.

So this act was very thoughtful and desires to be shared because I don’t know who this person is, and yes, I have seen the car go by and have remembered waving “HI” but that’s about it.

I truly hope God blesses this person and his family. I get a warm feeling that if everyone shared a tiny little act of KINDNESS daily, we’d be a much happier WORLD.

So the next time you notice something and say to yourself – I could fulfilled that act of KINDNESS – go ahead and DO IT! You’ll feel GREAT about it and the person(s) you touch will too!!

God Bless and remember an act of KINDNESS can and will CHANGE YOUR LIFE it did my family!!

You’re perfect just the way you are!

When we look at ourselves, we tend to see only what we think we need to improve or fix.

Somehow, we push aside our many wonderful gifts and strengths and even wish we were more like someone else – someone “perfect”. But there’s no such thing! And why try to be someone else when you’re already someone fabulous?

I picked up a Woman’s World magazine today which is one of my favorite. I read this little poem. I wanted to share it with you because sometimes we are victims of put-downs by other people that create those feelings that we are not perfect. Don’t allow anyone to speak negative words to you or at you – put you down – there are people that do this and they call it “joke” – it’s not a joke. If you start listening to those comments about you – and you listen to them – you start believing them – that is when this poem comes in – read it daily. Affirm that you are perfect, special, beautiful, worthy of greatness!!

Restore Me Jesus

This past month has been super difficult for me.  With everything that is going on in my life — it brought this song “Restore Me Jesus”,  to my mind.  I love this song  because it has so much meaning.  I don’t know if you can relate with me on this….there are times no matter what you do or what you say…..there is someone putting you down / pulling you down….& lets face it — we are made of flesh & blood….we are only humans…..it’s normal to cry…feel sad…feel upset….BUT that doesn’t take away from the person you are trying to become or the goals you are trying to achieve…..everyone has good days and everyone has bad days….but it’s up to you to allow those bad days to keep you down & keep you from moving on…..so have your cry……yell out loud….but once you’ve done that….pick yourself up & start running forward!

There is a verse in this song that goes…..only YOU understand my pain……no one else feels what I feel…..whenever I am going through storms in my life…..I know that there is only one person that understands my pain….that is God…….&  no one else feels what I feel….maybe you’ve experience this….it’s okay…..just don’t stop living……don’t stop looking forward towards the future…

Crying or feeling sad isn’t going to make you less of a person…..we have emotions we have to express…..but don’t allow it to stop you from picking yourself up & moving forward into making a Change in Your Life!

I can personally tell you that I know Jesus Restores Me…..I know that everything happens for a purpose….& it can only make me a stronger person….remember as you get closer to reaching your goals & dreams….you’ll hit some bumps along the way….just don’t let those bumps STOP you!!
